I applied for a Front of House position at USF for their summer and fall seasons. Also, I found out when OLRC auditions are. I really hope I can make it! I'm going to call the USF office to see if there are any positions with Playmakers open tomorrow.

Endings
Today marks the end of another amazing chapter in my life. I have, in less than a month, successfully completed three incredibly different roles in Cache Valley Civic Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker". This journey has brought new friends and new memories into my life and I am very grateful for each and every one of them. I am especially grateful to Sandra Emile. Her ballet has remained one of the few constants in my life and I am grateful to call this production a second home to me. I am happy that I have been able to return in what I hope was seen as a strong way and I am looking forward to a few more years of this holiday favorite.

The Nutcracker
Only one more chance to see "The Nutcracker" on Monday at 7:30 pm. Yesterday's performance was the highest grossing performance of "The Nutcracker" that Cache Valley Civic Ballet has ever had and I feel blessed to have been part of the company for this historic event. There is not a single weak link in the company and you will not want to miss our last performance "The Nutcracker".

STAGEright
The STAGEright campaign has ended and while they did not reach their goal of $5,500, they have received a total of $1,020 for the campaign. Go STAGEright!

STAGEright
Help out STAGEright Theatre Company with their production of Floyd Collins. It is a not for profit company running out of Seattle, Washington that was founded in 2009. In it's four years, it has never amassed debt of any kind and the Artistic Director would love to keep it that way. You can find the link to their campaign on the right. It is labeled "STAGEright Campaign".
One Week Warning
A week left until the opening of "The Nutcracker"! Today and Saturday are the last two days that the cast has to rehearse their specific roles without the added stress of costumes, sets, and lights. On Monday it all comes together; we begin to see the spectacle and the show takes its form.

Fantastic Beasts
I need to say something and I need you not to laugh. I really want to do "Fantastic Beasts". Like really, really want to. I am a huge J.K. Rowling fan; especially of anything having to do with the wizarding world. It seems like the ideal project for me. I am a complete unknown in the acting world and feel that as such I can become a character better than Collin Firth or Maggie Smith at this point in my career. Not to say that I am a better actor than them; far from it. I am merely pointing out that they will always be known by a good chunk of the world as the actor playing the character, not as the character. This is the unavoidable trap that every actor falls into eventually; that they will be known as themselves by someone. Anyway, I also think the timeframe is on my side. It would most likely be auditioning mid 2014 at the earliest seeing as how there is no deadline for the script and assuming characters have gotten as far as "Newt Scamander". Now, as this is WB, they will probably already be aiming for some big Hollywood star for Newt. However, this is still being held together by Rowling, and she might want to see someone other than the disastrous teen twilight gang trying not to ruin her movie. I think she will push for auditions as much as she can so as to keep her story fresh. I don't know, though. I just want to audition.

The Nutcracker
Today is my first party parent rehearsal for Cache Valley Civic Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker"! It feels surreal to have started, sixteen years ago, as a party boy and to now be a party parent. May the number thirteen be ever so lucky!

Update
Just to update, ShakesFEAR was a blast! I got to go to Cedar City for a week and do that as Puck and audition for An Ideal Husband which I did not get in to. I learned that Puck was created around me! I've never had that happen before! I also got to meet a few new freshman, so I am glad I spent a week down there. I was asked to do CVCB's The Nutcracker last week and will be a party parent, a mouse, and an arabian. I invite you to look at my pictures and tell me how I will pull off an arabian. I have confidence I will, however, and the production will be great. May the number thirteen be lucky just this once!

Contract Expired
Well, as of last Saturday night my OLRC contract expired. I would like to thank everyone involved with the 2013 OLRC season, especially Diana Myers and Elizabeth Black for all of their stage managing know how. Also a huge thank you to Kris Bushman for all of the scheduling and Dennis Hassan for being the heart and soul of the theater.
OLRC contract and R&J
I was officially off of my OLRC contract as of the tenth of August. Now it's off to SUU on the twenty sixth for Romeo and Juliet, Performing September 26-28 and October 3-5 in the Adams Theatre on the SUU campus. Go to www.suu.edu/pva/ta for more information on Romeo and Juliet as well as all of our other upcoming productions. I will graduate in May 2014, so if any theatre companies would like to get in touch for future job opportunities, it would be much appreciated.

Checking in...
I just felt like checking in since I haven't been posting for a while. The Drowsy Chaperone opened at the Caine Lyric Theatre last week. It is an incredible milestone for me, marking not only my first professional production, but also my first musical. I feel deeply humbled by the professionalism of the entire company as well as my involvement with the centennial season of the Lyric. My second production, James and the Giant Peach, opens on the tenth of this month. More information on both of these productions, as well as Nunsense, Odd Couple, Woman in Black, and our once in a lifetime 100 Year Celebration can be found on the company website https://arts.usu.edu/lyric/.

OLRC Documentary Donations!
There is a theatre in Logan, UT called the Old Lyric Repertory Company. As it is the centennial season of the OLRC, Lego Louis, one of the actors at the OLRC, is planning to make a documentary of this celebratory season. He is asking that anyone who likes storytelling to donate a few of their dollars to this cause. Your donations will be recognized and rewarded, and none of your money will be taken if he does not reach his goal. You can find the link to the right of the screen. Believe me that if you donate you will not be disappointed!

Offer from the OLRC
Today, I got an offer from the OLRC. They did offer me an acting position as well as a FOH position, but the acting is not anywhere near the requirement I need to fulfill my internship requirement (I figure credits and money have to come before acting at this point). I will be able to fudge on 20 of those hours, but that still leaves 180. As per regular theatre jobs, I am going to hold out until Friday evening to give USF time to deliberate, at which point I will weigh how much money I can get from each position and choose one.
Easter post (on April fool's day. It's not a joke, I promise!)
Amid my returning excitement about USF (4 days more!) I went to two separate parties on Saturday, which took up my whole afternoon from 1-8:30. There was a BBQ with Frank, Josh, and Shelly that I went to from 1-5, and then I went to a Doctor Who thing with Emma from 5-8:30. It was rather enjoyable. No homework was done. The Neil Simon Festival emailed yesterday and told me that there wasn't a place for me, so the blows to my consciousness keep coming. Super excited for summer and seeing my dogs (I can live without the shitzu)!

USF
Remember that one time when USF emailed and I was so excited to read it, but when I do I found out I have to wait another whole week? Yeah, that was fun. 9 days more!

Utah Shakespeare Festival
My interview went pretty well. I think I have a good chance. My choices were, in order of desirability, Front of House, Concessions, Tickets. They would all be really fun, but there you go. My thought process was this: FOH is closest to the stage, Emily had a less than awesome experience with concessions, and I really don't want to sit in an office all day. I find out next Friday.

SUU spring break!
SUU hosted ACDFA, which I worked all week.
Looked for a few more jobs. None that I could fit into my schedule.

News this week:
I am in SUU's fall 2013 production of "Romeo and Juliet" as Friar Lawrence. More details on that as they become available.
I have been put on the shortlist for "Flashback" (seems a bit dodgy) slated for release next year as Agent Daniels.
I am holding auditions for a student film at SUU (comment for details).
I may audition for a student directing class at SUU.
I will not get my driver's license in time to work for the MCT.
I get to see Les Misérables (the movie) for free!
